LKJ in dub

Listening to Bass Culture – these lines seemed very appropriate for these times

for the time is nigh
when passion get a high
when the beat just lash
when the wall must smash
and the people shift
as the culture alter
when oppression scatter

LKJ – Bass Culture

Another massive dub selection for this months dubcast. We have received a lot of new submissions for the dubcast and been listening, but due to other commitments we’re unable to do another show this month. That said we think you’ll enjoy this months dubcast. Enjoy it all from the classic to the new to the strange and wonderful and jarring. Thanks for listening dub fans – wherever you are.

Mrs Cakehead Dub Instigator

Mrs Cakehead has a Myspace website! A Mrs Cakehead “greatest hits” is now available from pumf records & pStan (thanks to onthewire for that info). Elirecords has some more CDs.
“In one of his tunes Prince Far I mentions Christopher Columbus discovering America, and Prince Far I Discovers music… Mrs cakehead discovers homebrew and criminal damage.” – mrs cakehead – porsche incident (chillum forest)

On the topic of Prince Far I – an interesting collection of essays from the “dread library” came to our attention… enjoy.

Link Request Dub

Folks we are being in-undated (that means we get ~10-15 emails a day about links) with link requests faster than we can check them out and post them on dub.com.

Would it be a good idea to post them here first and see what the feedback is like on each and then decide? You can log-in and post a comment.

Also – if you see a link that is broken or domain squatted (i.e. you get a search page or some bullshit) let us know. We don’t want to waste your time looking at crap sites.

last night a dubplate saved my life

For those of you familiar with Dubplates and their place in music, we won’t bore. Those who don’t – think of it as the freshest mp3 straight from the mixing desk, but it’ll self-destruct in 1 hour (or after 20 plays… hmmm that sounds like a DRM idea to us..)

And there is a TV version (version) – Read the plot summary and ask yourself who wouldn’t mind being caught between two “waring” pirate radio stations? You’d get to play both sides of your dubplate – one for each station right?
